DQ200 is a seven-speed dry-clutch DSG. Judder, delayed engagement or a transmission warning needs vehicle-specific diagnosis before deciding on clutch or mechatronic repairs.

Dry clutches, separate oil systems

DQ200 is a seven-speed transverse front-wheel-drive dual-clutch transmission. Its clutch friction surfaces run dry, but the gear mechanism contains lubricating oil and the mechatronics has a separate hydraulic fluid system. An electric pump generates control pressure. The clutch, dual-mass flywheel and mechatronics are separate assemblies.

0AM, 0CW and the gearbox code

0AM and 0CW are design identifiers, not three-letter gearbox codes such as KHN or LKM. A diagnostic hardware number beginning with 0AM does not identify the entire installed transmission. Changes within the 0AM clutch design and the difference between 0AM and 0CW must not be confused. Similar housings or connectors do not establish interchangeability.

Pressure faults and symptoms

P189C relates to insufficient pressure build-up; electrical supply, connections and hydraulics need investigation. P0841 concerns the plausibility of pressure information. P17BF concerns pump protection and does not establish a mechanical clutch-clearance fault. P177B and P189A require version and installation checks. Shudder, delayed engagement and frequent pumping can have different causes.

Service and basic settings

The vehicle’s instructions determine fluids and work. A wet-clutch DSG service programme cannot simply be applied to DQ200. Basic settings and guided adaptation may form part of repair work, but cannot fix a leak, wrong installation dimensions or a worn part. The older 0AM procedure must not be copied directly to a 0CW UDS controller.

Diagnosis before repair

We need the car at our workshop for our own diagnostics. Earlier reports help us prepare, but the repair decision is based on our examination. We investigate the cause and assess whether a component can be repaired. A fault code alone does not determine which part needs replacing.

Include the registration number, mileage, symptoms and when they occur. Attach the complete fault report, previous estimate and repair history if available. Let us know whether the vehicle can be driven. You can contact us in Finnish, English or Swedish.

We discuss the findings, repair options and scope with you. You receive an estimate for approval before repair work begins. We normally use parts that we supply. AUNE repair terms apply.

Follow the vehicle’s warnings and owner’s manual. If drive is lost or the car behaves unpredictably, stop safely and arrange transport.
