When should mechatronics be investigated?

Mechatronics combines electronic and hydraulic control of the transmission. A fault can affect gear changes and clutch operation, but similar symptoms can also originate elsewhere in the gearbox.

No gear engagement: Tell us whether forward gears, reverse or both are affected.

Jerking or delayed response: Does it happen when setting off or changing gear? Is the car cold or warm?

Warning or limited operation: Attach a photo of the dashboard message and any fault-code report. A code alone does not determine the repair.

The findings determine the repair

We identify the transmission and examine stored faults, live data and operation related to the symptom. Electrical connections and other possible causes are checked where needed.

Repair or replacement?: We identify the defective part and assess whether the unit is repairable. Some damage requires replacement.

Agree before work: We explain the proposed repair and estimate. Afterwards, we perform the adjustments required for that transmission and check its operation.

DQ200, DQ250, DQ381, DQ400e and DQ500, as well as Audi DL382 and DL501, differ in design. Diagnosis and repair must match the transmission version.

Practical questions

Will an oil change repair a mechatronics fault?

An oil change is maintenance; it does not repair a broken component. A transmission with symptoms should be diagnosed before choosing a repair.

Can I drive to the workshop?

Follow the vehicle warning. If drive is lost, operation becomes unpredictable or the car instructs you to stop, stop somewhere safe. Contact us: we can help arrange transport.

What should I include in my request?

Start with the registration number, mileage and symptoms. Attach fault codes and previous diagnostic reports if available.
