Which service does your car need?

Oil change service: Changing the engine oil. We check when it is due against your car’s service schedule.

Inspection service: A smaller or more extensive inspection according to the manufacturer’s schedule. Its scope depends on time and mileage.

Other scheduled work: The quote also includes work currently due under the service schedule, such as air filter or spark plug replacement.

We recommend combining the oil change and inspection in one visit when the service schedule and your car’s use allow it. This helps avoid unnecessary workshop visits.

Timing systems, brakes and drivetrain

Timing work: Timing belt and chain work with the appropriate specialist tools. We quote a package suitable for the engine, such as a timing kit with a water pump, and assess whether the auxiliary belt kit should also be replaced.

Brake servicing: Brake pads and discs, cleaning and freeing up brake components, brake fluid changes and brake caliper repairs.

Haldex and drivetrain: Haldex oil changes to the manufacturer’s instructions, plus differential and transfer case oil changes. Haldex strainer cleaning and replacement of applicable filters and seals are separately agreed VAGEN additional inspection work.

Air conditioning servicing and leak repairs

We service R134a and R1234yf air conditioning systems. If a substantial amount of refrigerant is missing, we recommend a nitrogen leak test before refilling. We agree this test with you separately.

We also repair identified leaks. This may involve replacing a condenser, pipe or seals. The findings determine the repair required.

When your car needs a repair

Engine: Oil and coolant leaks, cylinder head work, internal engine repairs and engine replacement.

Suspension and chassis: Loose or damaged components and investigation of unusual noises. We consider wheel alignment as part of suspension work.

Drivetrain and transmission: Diagnosis and repair of drivetrain and gearbox faults based on the findings.

Removing carbon from intake ports

We remove carbon deposits from TSI and TFSI engine intake ports by walnut blasting. Deposits can restrict airflow and may be one cause of misfires.

We investigate the symptoms and assess whether cleaning is needed before recommending it. There is no single mileage interval for this work, and cleaning is not a cure for every misfire.
