Six gears and wet clutches
DQ250 is a transverse dual-clutch transmission. K1 serves gears 1, 3, 5 and reverse; K2 serves 2, 4 and 6. It uses clutch control for moving off, not a conventional torque converter. Oil serves hydraulic control, lubrication and cooling. Clutch, mechatronics and flywheel faults can feel similar from the driver’s seat.
Version and application
02E and 0D9 identify designs. MQB-platform 0D9 versions include changes to installation position and mechatronics communication. Gearbox letter codes such as HFQ or SYZ, hardware and software are separate information. The same family or casing does not prove matching ratios or electronics. Model year, manufacture date and first registration year must be distinguished.
P2711, P0716 and P1740
P2711 indicates an abnormal shift event. Clutch drag is one possible situation, not a diagnosis for every P2711. For P0716 and P1740 together, G182/G509 wiring and connections may need checking on applicable 02E versions. A generic P0805 description can differ from the monitored component in a particular DQ250 version. The full suffix and controller identity matter.
Oil service and software
We check the current service schedule, oil specification and filling procedure for your 02E/0D9 gearbox. A software update must match the vehicle and controller version; it is not a general remedy for judder when warm. Basic settings cannot repair worn friction surfaces, wiring damage or leakage.

Diagnosis before repair
We need the car at our workshop for our own diagnostics. Earlier reports help us prepare, but the repair decision is based on our examination. We investigate the cause and assess whether a component can be repaired. A fault code alone does not determine which part needs replacing.
Include the registration number, mileage, symptoms and when they occur. Attach the complete fault report, previous estimate and repair history if available. Let us know whether the vehicle can be driven. You can contact us in Finnish, English or Swedish.
